I
was going to offer today a kind of loose apology. “Sorry, guys, for all those
delays and absolutely no food blogs this winter,” and then shamelessly go onto
blaming my laziness but then I realized: this is actually nothing new. It happens
sometimes that bloggers are not in an inspirational mode for a blog. Some
people have lesson plans and editorial calendars, I have whims. It’s just now I
have a tiny thing — an urge to write, if the depressing greys anatomy last
night is indication — to blame for it.
Thus,
without apology, is my latest food gnawing experience or I would say my 2
months old experience; **guilty** at Punjabi by Nature: a restaurant I was
wanting to go for a really long time. Although opportunities kept presenting
itself every now and then, there was one or the other factor that kept me from
going here. This place was famous among my friends circle as a joint that
provides tequila pani puri and a variety of beer; not that I got to try any of
it. SIGH!
After
a lot of persuasion I finally convinced my folks to give this joint a shot and
ended up for a lunch buffet. Was my persuasion worth the effort? I don’t think
so. This place was like any other buffet joints in Bangalore with nothing new
to offer. Not that the food was bad or not upto the mark, but I had higher
expectations.
What I liked?
The chats especially the
alu tikki, pani puri and bhel.
Jalebi and ice-creams were
noteworthy too and so were the unlimited lime soda and Punjabi matha.
Rest were all quite
alright.
What would I say?
Bangalore has so many
buffet places that food holes has to get more innovative and come up with
different ideas, better presentation, amazing ambiences and not just tasty food
but out of the world amazingly tasty food.
